Hi there,I was thinking that there must be plenty of people over seventy in horden with there memories,so i did not respond but standing in st mary"s church a couple of weeks ago[i was at young stephen bellerby"s funeral] i got to thinking when we used to put our bonfire wood on top of the flat roof of the Buffs club behind eden st. i wonder what the health and safety would have said about that?we used to get our smokes from the club as well.in those days the cleaners would throw damp sawdust on the floor and sweep up,this was put in large bins ,we would get up to our armpits getting the tab ends out[we were only about ten] I was in falmouth a few years ago and heard that wonderful accent of ours comming from a little old lady she said she kept the fireside libary shop next door to macbeths ,she got a shock when i told her what she had behind her door, a barrel of sawdust with toys in[lucky dip] small world!
